Abstract

Catalytic hydrogenation of aqueous nitrate is presented as a potential, advanced water treatment techn-ology for nitrate removal from drinking water. The reaction is carried out fast under mild reaction conditions without any occurrence of wastewater. The key to the process is to control the activity and selectivity of the catalysts. More recent studies show the interest of catalysts. Catalytic performance and catalysis mechanism of various catalysts are reviewed respectively. The main trends are discussed briefly.
