Experimental studies on the treatment of wastewater containing nitrobenzene by fixed phase complexing extractant have been carried out. In the experiments,the influences of the mass ratio of complexing extractant to macro porous resin,the initial pH of wastewater, flow of wastewater,and the method of recycle have been examined. The pilot study of acetyl naphthalene wastewater treatment application is done. The results show that when the mass ratio of complexing extractant to macro porous resin is 2 ∶1 and initial pH < 7 of wastewater, the complexing extractant can effectively extract nitrobenzene from wastewater,and can be regenerated by vapor. The concentration of nitrobenzene and CODCr of acetyl naphthalene wastewater can be reduced to the level lower than the First Grade National Discharge Standard by using the technique of three-stage fixed bed complexing extraction.
