If the sludge is settled for a long time in anaerobic environment from thickening to dewatering, it will rele-ase much phosphorus and affect directly the effluent of total phosphorus. In the influent industry wastewater and sew-age of Yizheng Chemical Fibre Co., Ltd, mass concentration of the total phosphorus is normally less than 10 mg/L,but the total phosphorus is up to 40 mg/L in clarified liquid from sludge thickening and sludge dewatering, which has seriously affected the wastewater′s removal of total phosphorus and keep the treated wastewater′s discharge from meeting the requirements of discharge standard in China. By using physio-chemical methods, adding organic or inorganic coagulant to clarified liquid, plenty of phosphorus can be removed. It has been verified by the experiments that the removal of total phosphorus is more than 80%, COD is 40%, when the mass concentration of the total phosphorus is about 20 mg/L in clarified liquid and the dosage of industry aluminum sulphate is 40 mg/L.
