We established a Constant Composition System which could keep all the composition of calcium carbonate aqueoussolution constant throughout precipitation process.By using the system,the inhibition characteristics of kinds of chemical scale inhibitors,and effects of different concentration of the inhibitor,PBTC have been evaluated.Recorded kinetics of precipitation clearly show that the addition of inhibitor takes a period of time,over which crystal growth is impeded.Eventually,however,the ability of the inhibitor to control the crystal growth diminishes and rapid normal growth is reinitiated.The amount of inhibition time provides information about the effectiveness of inhibitors.Compared to the static scale inhibition method,the Constant Composition System has good sensitivity and reproducibility.
