Determination of pyridine in water by headspace-large diameter capillary column-NPD method

A gas chromatography method with headspace-large diameter capillary column-NPD for the determination of pyridine in drinking water, source water and wastewater has been established. In the optimized situation, good linear relationship is founded between the responding counts and concentration of pyridine in water. The detection limit is 0.005 mg/L, with high sensitivity and the recovery rate of 92%-110%. The application of this method in analyzing real samples is tested and satisfied result is obtained. There are many advantages in this method, such as convenient pretreatment, without usingpoisonous reagent, quick analysis and fewinterference etc.
