Study on the biochemical treatment of acrylic fiber wastewater

Abstract

Active sludge method and some strengthening measures of it for treating acrylic wastewater have been studied. It is shown that it is very difficult to make acrylic fiber wastewater reach the discharge standard. The Fenton reagent and ozone oxidation and anaerobic acidification methods as pretreatment means have little effect on improving the biochemical capacity of wastewater with highly concentrated acrylic fiber. Adding rich nutriment and life sewage co-metabolization have little effect on increasing COD removal rate when biochemical treatment is being done. It is therefore necessary to use physicochemical method after the biochemical treatment so as to reach the effluent discharge standard.
