Influence of In-doping on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2

摘要

采用溶胶-凝胶法,应用冷冻干燥技术,制备了掺铟纳米TiO2,采用X射线衍射、激光粒度分析仪、扫描电镜、紫外可见光谱等测试手段,分析In2O3与TiO2复合后,不同含铟量的复合半导体的比表面积、晶型、颗粒大小等特性及其对罗丹明与甲基橙光催化脱色降解的影响,将半导体的物理性能与光催化性能结合起来,探讨了它们之间的关系。通过实验,发现掺铟的纳米TiO2复合材料,并不是只对特定结构的物质才有降解作用,处理实际的印染废水再次验证掺铟TiO2能提高TiO2的光催化效能,其中铟与TiO2的物质的量比为0.1%的复合材料光催化效果最好。

Abstract

Titanium tetrabutoxide is used as raw material. Sol - gel process and technique freeze - drying are applied to prepare nanocrystalline In2O3 - TiO2 with well-proportioned size. XRD, LDPSA, SEM, UV are used to characterize the powder samples, and the connection between physical characters of the complex semiconductor with different concentration of indium and its photocatalytic activity is discussed. The photocatalytic activity isevaluated by the photocatalytic decomposition of methyl orange and butylrhodamine, which are different structure materials. It is found that the complex semiconductor can be helpful to photodegrade different structure pollutants and the photocatalytic activity of n(In)/n(TiO2) = 0.1% sample is the best, whose photocatalytic activity is improved when it is used to decrease COD of printing and dyeing wastewater.
