Because the composites of complex flocculants have greatly exerted the synergistic effect on their complex system, there are many good characteristics in them, especially in the treatment of wastewater from printing and dyeing. In recent years, many scholars have paid their attention on the development and application of complex compound flocculants. The classification of complex flocculants and their application effect on the treatment of industrial wastewater with high chroma (for example, the wastewater from printing and dyeing)are pointed out. The current status and the trend of the development of several complex compound flocculants in our country are introduced in general.
