Studies on the application of modified starch /polyamine complex to the treatment of stone wastewater

Abstract

The flocculation of a complex of modified cassava starch and polyamine in stone wastewater with high turbidity, high SS and high chroma has been investigated. The results showthat, with the addition of the complex at the dosage of 8 mg/L, the main pollution indexes of the wastewater(pH=9) could tally with the National Sewage Discharge Grade-2 Standards after sedimentation for 30 min. The treatment cost with the complex is 44%, 36% and 50% of PAC, CPAM and polyamine respectively, showing superior cost performance to the treatment of stone wastewater.
