Abstract

A process named ion exchange micro-basification is put forward in the treatment of turbo-generator inner cooling water. The process translates the minim soluble Cu(HCO3)2 into NaOH, regulating solution alkalescent and restraining copper corrosion effectively. Field bypass simulated experimental results show that the small exchange column, which is composed of cation exchanger resin of Na-type and anion exchanger resin of OH-type by equal proportion of exchange capacity, is able to change the light acidic inner cooling water with an average Cu2+ content of 371.0 μg/L into light basic water nearly without Cu2+. The pH of the effluent from the ion exchange mixed bed is in the range of 7.60 to 8.95. The copper tested before and after the small exchange column shows that the cooling water treated by resin has an obvious effect on restraining copper corrosion.
