The treatment of wastewater containing naphthenic acid by flocculation method isstudied. The variabilitiesof important influencing factorshave been investigated in many tests. The optimum flocculating condition of removal CODCr is drawn asfollows:the dosage of polyferric sulfate is 275mg/L,anionic polyacry-lamide 8mg/L;pH value hasno effect on flocculation;but temperature has affect on the flocculation efficiency, and the lower the temperature is,the better the effect is.Based on the data received in laboratory tests, the optimum dosage of flocculantsis determined in pilot scale(2m3/h):polyferric sulfate(275mg/L),anionic polyacrylamide(6.7mg/L).The removal rate of COD>sub?Crreaches 83.1%,under the optimum condition.
