Studies on the synthesis and properties of snake-cage type chelating resins

Abstract

By using carboxymethyl celluose as snake,and diethy lenetriamine-glycerol epoxy resin as cage,a new type of weak acid and weak base amphoteric resin has been synthesized.The swelling properties in different solvents and static adsorption properties of this resin for Cu2+、Pb2+、Ni2+ and Zn2+ such as adso rption capacities,adsorption kinetics,adsorption isotherm etc.have been studied.The effects of pH value on the adso rptio n capacities have also been studied.The experimental results shows that this resin only swells and does not run off in all solvent,and it has better adso rption properties for Cu2+、Pb2+ than for Ni2+、Zn2+.Their adso rption capacities are 1.39,1.35,0.71 and 0.44 mol/g resin respectively.This resin will widely be used in the sides of dealing with industrial sewage contained heavy metal ions and separating metal ions.
