The effects of salinity variations, temperature and pH value on the removal efficiency of NH3—N have been investigated in the complete-mixing activated sludge system after the domestic seawater flowed into the urban sewage system. With the salinity increasing the removal efficiency of NH3—N drops. With the temperature increasing the removal efficiency of NH3—N is improved. The suitable pH value of nitrification is 8.0 ~ 8.5 when the seawater salinity is high in the wastewater.
