Abstract:

Synthesis of PESA (polyepoxysucciuate), a biodegradable green scale inhibitor without phosphorus and nitrogen, was investigated by using maleic anhydride as monomer. The optimum conditions of the synthetic process, the infra-red spectrogram, and the optimum molecular weight range of scale inhibition of the synthetic product have been gained. The product shows excellent scale inhibition in water with high hardness and alkalinity.
